Why shingles fail — and what actually fixes them.
Oil depletion, not age
Asphalt shingles are bound together by petroleum-based oils. UV oxidation, heat, humidity, and freeze-thaw cycles drive those oils out of the shingle over time. As the binder dries, shingles lose flexibility, crack at the edges, curl, and shed the granules that armor the surface. Most contractors call this "old age." It isn't — it's molecular dehydration.
GreenSoy™ chemistry
GreenSoy™ is a soy-derived, plant-based oil that chemically bonds with asphalt. It penetrates rather than coats — re-sealing granules, reactivating tar strips, and rebuilding UV protection from within. The result is a roof that's measurably more flexible, more weather-resistant, and significantly closer to factory condition than it was the day before.
